His work involves forming strategic partnerships across government and commercial sectors, aiming to inspire a broader commitment to a more inclusive society.

In 2007, Shane’s life changed forever.

Today, thanks to Accessible Beaches, more than 60 well-known Australian beaches are fully accessible.

Shane’s most recent project has been building co-able, a health and wellness destination with accessibility at the heart of the space. Poised as a revolutionary working environment, co-able offers allied health providers, employment services, an accessible gym and fully inclusive working rooms. The Port Adelaide hub is the first of its kind, showing attention to detail and genuine care for people that have been missed in most other spaces.

In 2013, Shane founded Push Mobility, a leading disability equipment provider, and pioneered Accessible Beaches Australia.

In 2013, Shane founded Push Mobility, a disability equipment company providing quality, functional and affordable equipment that enables its users to actively engage in their communities. Since then, Push Mobility has grown into one of the leading manual wheelchair providers in Australia.

Even with all the great outcomes Push creates, Shane knew there was still vital work to be done.

As a passionate swimmer, Shane loves the beach. However, he quickly discovered the thin wheels of his wheelchair did not pair well with soft sand. Shane set out to make beaches accessible to all and in 2016 established Accessible Beaches Australia, a non-profit organisation focused on better beach access for people with disabilities. Achieving the vision was never easy. Community education has played a pivotal role in creating and maintaining partnerships for each project.

Now, Shane has made more than 60 beaches fully accessible and has created a world-first health and wellness destination.
